Thing # 6: Mashups and 3rd party sites

Wow! The possiblities are endless. I created the photo mosaic, it took me some time to replace the pictures and edit them. My students can use the mosaic or the trading cards when we are covering periodic table. They can select an element or a group and describe its properties and put the pictures with it. Mappr is a great tool, I still have to figure it how I am going to use it in my Science class.

I think your avatar is cool and descriptive. And I really enjoy playing on the creative sites, too. Your idea for students to create a mosaic or trading card for the elements is really cool, especially if you have enough students to assign one element to each and do that whole chart. I also thought about making puzzles out of the periodic table so that students could think about where the elements belong in the table while paying attention to mass, etc. to put the puzzle together. Good luck!

Thanks for your comment. We do make our own periodic table on the wall. Each student researchs on 2-3 elements, puts the info on the colored paper that I provide, and then presents it to the class. Perdiodic table puzzle would be a great idea.
